McCullough Mulvin Architects

This catalogue presents the work of the Irish architect Niall McCullough and his studio. The studio’s work reflects the specific features of Ireland’s landscape and climate; indeed, it can be viewed as an experimental platform for the study of climatic conditions. The studio makes widespread use of natural materials such as wood, stone and brick, and its designs draw inspiration from the natural landscape, whose elements are encoded into the completed structures. The catalogue offers examples of individual designs for institutions and offices built on greenfield sites (such as a forensic medicine centre in Dublin) as well as examples of designs built alongside historical architecture. One case (in Rush) involved the conversion of a church interior to become a library. The catalogue gives details of individual projects including descriptions, photographic materials, plans, sections, ground plans, situational plans and sketches.

Publication in Czech and English.
The catalogue was published to accompany the exhibition Mc Cullough Mulvin Architects - Laboratoř přírody. Geologie / Biologie (Laboratory of Nature. Geology / Biology) held from 5 April to 5 June 2016 at the House of Art (Dům umění), Ostrava, organized by the Cabinet of Architecture and the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava.
