An important part of the gallery’s holdings is its remarkable collection of old art from the period 1500–1800. This exhibition of paintings and graphic art, held in the gallery’s mezzanine space, presents works by Central European artists of the late Gothic and early Renaissance eras, as well as Italian art from the early Mannerist period originating at the court of Rudolf II. The collection is particularly rich in Baroque art from the 17th and 18th centuries, which sensitively reflects the social, political and religious changes of its time. The exhibition also includes works by Italian and Dutch Masters.
